The Perfect Wedding Dress
There are so many things that factor into creating the perfect wedding day; of course, you have to consider the location, food, entertainment, guest list, and so many other things. However, hands down, the most significant thing is THE DRESS!!!! We all know that that is what everyone wants to see.
While most females look forward to being a princess for the day, not all of us can pull off the ballgown that Cinderella wore. Finding that perfect dress can be quite overwhelming. Whether you go to your local boutique or take the trek to Kleinfeld’s in Brooklyn, NY, there are lots of choices. So, what’s a girl to do?
To start, try focusing on the silhouette that fits your body type. (I know, it’s hard to give up a dream when you’ve had your heart set on a specific dress. However, if the dream dress doesn’t suit your body type, you are not going to love it when you try it on.) Here are some pointers:
Petite (5’4” and under): A sheath or empire waist will create a longer silhouette. Your little frame will get lost in lots of volume and layers, so skip the ballgown.
Hourglass: Show off your curves with a form-fitting mermaid cut; but, again, avoid lots of layers.
Well-endowed Bustline: The bateau neckline (also called a boat neck) will draw everyone’s attention to your beautiful face.
Tall and Slender: Ballgowns were made for you.
Of course, these are just general suggestions. You will know when you put on your perfect dress. You will feel it in your heart. So, go and conquer. Your perfect wedding dress is waiting for you. Happy shopping!!!
