Vacationing Again
Possibly this is a silly question but I’ll ask anyway. Have you become restless and ready to take a vacation? I know that I am.
It seems to be a law of nature that you truly don’t miss something until you can’t have it. I will confess that I really didn’t FULLY appreciate my vacations until I could not have one. Please don’t get me wrong. I enjoyed them but really didn’t recognize how special they were until 2020. There’s no need to rehash all that has happened. We are all aware and tired of talking about it. Now, as we approach the middle of 2021, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel and restlessness has set in.
As I have reminisced about years past and pondered where I want to go, without a doubt, it is either a Sandals or Beaches resort. Any one of the properties will do. Sandals (for adults only) and Beaches (accommodates youngsters and teens) are award-winning all-inclusive luxury Caribbean resorts that are ultimate celebrations of fun and sun.
I have been fortunate enough to have visited Beaches Turks & Caicos, Jamaica’s Sandals South Coast and Sandals Ochi, and Sandals Barbados and have loved every minute of each visit. On top of that, this was all before becoming a Sandals Certified Travel Specialist.
So, what is it that keeps drawing me back?
First, it’s the customer service. My husband and I have never been disappointed. Typically, we have gone for our holiday/anniversary trip in December. By the end of the year, we have been completely exhausted from a long year and have used this time to be unapologetically lazy and bask in our butlers’ attention. For those few short days (trust me, no matter how long you stay, it’s too short), we have felt like a king and queen.
Second, it’s the food. There is no such thing as a bad meal. You can ALWAYS find something that you like. To be really honest, during my first trip, I realized that I was eating even when I was not hungry. Everything was so good that I had to consciously stop myself. And, our annual candlelight dinners on the beach were AMAZING!!!!!
Third, it’s the activities. We have frolicked in the waterpark, hung out on a catamaran, played chess on a life-size board, and have simply had fun being kids again. But our favorite activity was our daily nap. There was nothing better.
These are just my fantastic memories; and, I plan to make more. My goal is to visit every property, so that means there are 15 more properties to see and lots more to do.
What memories have you made or hope to make at either Beaches or Sandals? If you can’t decide, here are just some of the choices that you have:
